Adam Peaty and Project 56

‘Project 56 – Mission accomplished @[962377660473603:274:Adam Peaty MBE]’, as he tweeted. Breaststroke swimmer Peaty has become the first man ever to swim 100 m in less that 57 seconds. His winning time at World Aquatics Championships, Gwangju, South Korea is 56.88 which means he has done his mission he called “Project 56”, i.e. to swim the distance in under 57 seconds. Before this record, he was the first man ever to swim the distance in less than 58 seconds, too.

– Peaty is unbeaten in this distance since more than 2014

– it is the 14th time he has beaten the current best time in 100m
