    The currently tallest skyscaper in London (The Shard) was designed (i.e. sketched) on a napkin by its architect, Renzo Piano. The building itself received several nicknames (including the “Salt Shaker”) but as London Bridge Buildng’s top looks like glass broken into several sharp pieces, it is nicknamed “The Shard”.

    With its height of 306m (more than 1000 ft), it is far the highest building in London but it is not the one with the funniest nickname.

  • ‘Project 56 – Mission accomplished @[962377660473603:274:Adam Peaty MBE]’, as he tweeted. Breaststroke swimmer Peaty has become the first man ever to swim 100 m in less that 57 seconds. His winning time at World Aquatics Championships, Gwangju, South Korea is 56.88 which means he has done his mission he called “Project 56”, i.e. to swim the distance in under 57 seconds. Before this record, he was the first man ever to swim the distance in less than 58 seconds, too.
